~ Why Meditate? ~ Have you ever been to a place called 'Thomas Point Beach,' Maine, USA? I used to go there as a child with my family, But if you want to swim you have to check the tides, Some people don hip boots and dig for clams, When the tide comes back, the last part to fill in, Meditation is like that coastline and it's tides. Life pulls us, makes us empty after a while, *

as we look out on a clear night. The stars are still and silent.
Yet they are moving at a furious pace. In meditation we try to still our mind until it is like that starry sky, quiet and serene, but powerfully inspired. Here, we can release all things, become renewed, find our vision, motivation and creativity.
Try to find time that is quiet. No phones ringing, etc.
If you can be in nature, you're halfway there.
If indoors, is there a window you can sit by, that overlooks a tree, or even just the sky? Put your comfortable meditation chair there. Some Quick Ways To Meditate:
1. Listen to the breeze
2. Watch the leaves flutter
3. Listen to birds singing...
4. water flowing...
5. thunderstorm...
6. music...
7. bells...
8. or ocean surf (and seagulls)...
If you can't go to these sounds, buy a tape.
And make your meditation chair a good place.
The idea is to quiet the mind.. Our consciousness opens to the infinite. The Light and Life force of the universe enters at the 'crown chakra', just above our head. It is called the 'crown of life' chakra by mystics. The life force streams down the spine, setting 'a-spin' the chakra wheels that run from the crown (chakra) to the base of the spine. The energy in turn will stream back up the spine through all seven energy centers, rising to 'kiss' the infinite, clearing and energizing the bodily energy centers. This is the balance of Life which restores peace and brings joy, harmony and healing.

What is meditation? How is it done?

(They have a website, thomaspointbeach.com.)
and I try to visit there when I go home. It's a beautiful beach.
for when the tide is out, you can barely see the water,
it's so far out.
maybe steaming them right on the beach.
is a pretty little inlet you can look across, at deep pines
and craggy rocks.
but if we take time to quiet our mind,
peace will come stealing in,
and the waters of life fill us.
Meditation is bringing the consciousness to the primordial, peaceful center.
It is tapping into the spiritual fountain of youth (regularly).
Meditation is much like the starry heavens
